RAHINI - Aur Ek Prem Kahani - Innoru Kadhal Kadhai - Episode 52

The jeep travelled for a long time by road. Rahini tried to trace the route but she lost track few kilometers away due to the bad road condition. Now there is no phone and no one following her to find about her whereabouts, she is risking her life to save the girl. Though Rahini looked brave and bold, no one but herself would know how much she is scared to face the flesh mountains all alone with no weapons for her defense. She is not in a position to imagine how danger it would become if she tried to do single thing against their instructions.

The badly damaged road made the jeep ride almost like a roller coaster. Rahini had to bump with the men inside the vehicle and she felt very disgusted by the bad odor from their bodies and bad rotten smelling mouth due to booze. She felt like puking but tried to control somehow. Another person who suffered the bad road ride was the one who is hanging below the vehicle. His position became worse whenever the vehicle crossed a speed breakers.

“Oh No. How far this is going to run? I cannot hold this for longer time” lamented Pratik

The vehicle ran for few kilometers before it slowed down to some industrial remote area. There were lot of stones, sands, bricks, cement piles up here and there. The vehicle crossed a construction site and travelled further inside. The scattered stones, thorns, nails and several other pricking objects injured Pratik’s back. After another few hours of running, the vehicle finally stopped at some place far remote than

anything. Pratik sensed the situation and immediately crawled from the place silently and hid behind a rock voluminous enough to hide him. Rahini was taken outside with her blindfold and a man unfolded her.

It took a while for her to get the vision clear and identify the things around her. She looked around and all she could see was a bare land, with some green plants here and there. There were some rocks in bigger, medium and smaller sizes. The whole area was very hot and there were dust in the air.  The men dragged her inside a half-constructed building.

“get off me” yelled Rahini and she tried to get rid of his hold. “I need no-one to walk me through.”

“Mem Sahib! Don’t resist us in this remote place. It is better you listen to us and obey for your safety.” Said the thug kidding her.

Rahini angrily looked at him.

“Give the stuffs” asked the man

“I am not giving it unless I see the child.” Said Rahini in a firm voice.

“If you wish to see the child, give it now.” threatened the man

Rahini felt irritated but she had hid it.

“Listen. It is a deal. Show me the child. I will give it to you.”

“You bloody b**ch” screamed the man as he tried to grab the stuffs from her forcefully. Rahini resisted against him and few other men came to his help to grab it. As it was going on, a shadow appeared there

“Leave her” said the voice of the shadow.

The expression in the eyes of the men changed and they retreated from her. The shadow came towards her and a face appeared finally. His face had scars like typical Bollywood film villain and he may be around 50+ years age but stout and strong enough to attack ten flesh mountains at a time. Rahini felt like that she had seen him somewhere before. She tried to recall when and where but she couldn’t.

“Welcome Rani of Jhansi. We thank you for giving us the honor of having you here.” Said the voice mockingly at her.

Rahini gave an expressionless look but her mind was still recalling her encounter with him.

“So finally I have met the brave woman who has taken the oath of trapping our entire gang in front of the law. Some people are so stupid enough to consider themselves as intelligent and no one can outsmart them.”

“Look, I am not here to argue with you. I want the child right now. Stop wasting my time.” said Rahini to him.

“Hm. Great Journalist Madam. You will be having lots of engagements with Prime Minister, President of India that you will feel waste of time in talking with gangsters like us, huh?”

“Listen, you people mistakenly kidnapped an innocent child and threatening me now. The child’s family is suffering there. Here, I have all that you need. Take it and give the girl back”

“Oh! So you are here to give the evidences back to us and take the girl with you and you will publish how me and my men kidnapped and threatened you to stop investigating about our activities. Based on your statement, police will arrest us, charge us, punish us with years of imprisonment. Here outside you and your reporters will be getting awards and medals for getting us inside the prison. Is it what you think will happen?”

Rahini frowned.

“What do you mean?”

“My dear lady, I have heard many people saying that you are a intelligent woman in this world. How come you are such a stupid to think  that you will be getting out of this place alive after you have decided to go to extreme steps to trap. Do we look like a fools to your eyes?”

Rahini felt little cold inside.

“The reason we brought here is to completely eliminate you along with those evidences. Very soon these are going to become ashes along with your body.” said the man and he laughed cruelly.

Rahini tried to conceal the fear as much as possible but the situation around her scared her like anything.

Oh No. What is he saying? Did I make mistake by coming here alone? Is he going to kill me? How the hell I am going to get out of here?

The man forcefully grabbed the stuff from her and immediately she was tied tightly by one of the men with her hands backside. Rahini tried to resist him but the thug got irritated by that and gave her a blow. Rahini felt like butterflies fluttering around her head. The blow was so heavy that she felt giddiness which made her unable to stand.

“You wanted to expose our activities to this world is it not? ” asked the man “I am afraid that it is not possible for you in this birth. Before you finally leave this world once for all, just have a look at how your child and how she is going to live her rest of life.”

Rahini who was about to lose consciousness woke up on hearing what he said. The man pointed some men and Rahini was shocked to see what those men brought along with them. She initially heard crying sound from a direction which is supposed to be sound of little children. She struggled to hold her conscious and she saw some little girls in age group less than 10 years gathered around crying in panic. To Rahini’s horror, she saw Trisha standing among them with same fear and panic like others.

“Trisha” called Rahini in a feeble voice.

She tried to go towards her but the man behind grabbed her hands. Trisha was standing with the girls crying continuously. Rahini looked at her not knowing how to get her out if this place.

“When we kidnapped this girl, we thought to revenging you by sending this girl away. It was disappointing that she is not your daughter. But we somehow understood she means to you a lot. This girl is going to

be lost because of you and no one knows where she is going after she went from here. Even we won’t be knowing what and where her fate will be once we sell overseas.” said the man.

Rahini started to show her fear in face. This delighted the man a lot.

“So do you think you can survive in this world after crossing our path. How dare you will think that Naina Didhi will let you live peacefully after that?” asked the man angrily.

Rahini felt the shock of her life on hearing the word ‘Naina didhi’. Naina Deshpande. Now everything became clear for her. She now got reminded of the man standing in front of her. It was the same man who was her right hand. He was the one who kidnapped children from elsewhere and disfigured them. He was the one who disfigured Meena and many other girls. What happened to Meena after they escaped from there? What happened to other girls who escaped along with her? Are they alive? Did they escape or got trapped to them again?

When Rahini decided to investigate the crime, she knew some child kidnapping racket is operating from Mumbai. How did they come here? They were some where in Ahmedaba. Naina shifted to Mumbai when she was young. Perhaps her gang also shifted along with her. She is the main politician who is backing this gang but she got award for her activities against child kidnapping.

This whole truth is going to be washed off along with her dead body. No one will know. Police may investigate the death of her but they won’t relate Naina in this matter. Even if they, her political power will suppress everything.

God! I have to do something. No matter I live or die, the truth, the evidence, Trisha and all other innocent children should leave this place safe. But how? What can I do now? God! Please help me. The thug burnt the evidences in front of her. Rahini stood helplessly. The little girls were dragged towards a container and the children resisted the flesh mountains only to get beatings heavily. Trisha saw Rahini standing there.

“Rahini aunty” cried Trisha loudly as she tried to move from there but the man pulled her cruelly.

“Trisha” cried Rahini

“Have a look for one last time.” Said the man.

Another thug dragged her to some place. Rahini tried to resist but she was already tired by the incidents.

Everything is over. She is going to die shortly. All her friends, colleagues, job, her fame, her popularity everything ran through her mind. She had visions of a young woman, a man, Radha, Kannapiraan and Arjun.

“Arjun” cried Rahini heavily. “I am sorry beta, I am going to join your father leaving you alone. You have to avenge them for your mother’s death. You have to expose the truth about them. Will you do that for me?” thought Rahini.

“Don’t worry. Don’t feel sad for leaving the world all alone. We have made all arrangements to send-off your daring heroic reporter to accompany you to the astral world.” Said the man and all his men laughed.

She began to lose her consciousness along with her hope.

Rahini wandered here and there looking at her watch with fear. Time is running out and in nine minutes that goon will call her to know about the status of his mens’ release. She got furious over the conversation with Anirudh few minutes back. How rudely he responded to her! He is not bothered about rescuing the child rather his personal ego became important to him. Well, what can be expected from the brother of a monster. He is blaming me for getting Trisha into trouble. He conveniently forgot that every cause of the problem is his brother and him.

“For how much time you planning to wander like this?” asked Pratik

Rahini angrily looked at him.

“There is no use in staring at me. You failed to convince that guy and glaring at me” he said

Rahini did not respond him. She sat quietly in a place not knowing what to do next. In few minutes, he will call her and what she can say to him? May be she can lie and by few minutes but what can she in that few minutes. That stupid Anirudh is not ready to listen to her. Perhaps I have to call the police and inform him. No I cannot do like that. If I do, police will get warned and once again they will be after them to rescue the child. What an idiotic demand! He wants his men to be released but police should not follow them. How it is possible?

Kanha, why are you testing me like this? You very well knew the intention behind my deeds and yet you trapped me into this trouble. Please, if something happens to Trisha, I cannot forgive myself for rest of my life. I cannot do anything and everything has gone beyond my control. Please save the girl and save me too. Only you can do everything now.

Pratik looked at her with pity but he too can do nothing. He pretended to refuse to hand-over the evidences to tease her but in reality he was ready to help her as it is matter of a child’s life. But what else he can for this goons. When the family itself is not caring it , there is nothing that they can do. But he made up his mind for one thing and expressed his views to her.

“Mam” he called her. Rahini did not pay attention to him. He did not mind about it and he continued “I need to ensure one thing.”

She looked at him now.

“At any cost this evidence is not going to their hands. It is your responsibility.” he said

Rahini turned to other side.

“See, they want their men to be released. I don’t think it is going to happen. At least we can save our evidences and publish them. It will be easy for police to arrest them.”

“What about the girl then?” she asked angrily “Is it ok if she dies in pieces?”

“You always end in same point. There is not going to be any use in handing over the evidence alone. Sure they won’t relieve the girl.”

“I don’t want to talk about it. I am trying to figure out a way to convince them. Please don’t disturb me. And most importantly that evidences are going to be given to them for sure. Don’t dream of taking it away with you” she said

Pratik angrily looked at her and left the place. Three minutes left for phone call and Rahini started to tremble with fear. She kept looking at the phone not knowing how to handle the caller. God, please show me a way to get out if this. She tightly closed her eyes.

Suddenly things started to turn in some other direction unexpected. Rahini could see some shadows coming near to her and she looked upright to see who they are. The shadows belonged to unexpected people who are mainly related to the scene. Anirudh, Rohit and inspector stood in front of her. Rahini’s face turned surprise but it changed to irritation.

“Look, we don’t want to fight wit you and waste our energy. Let us figure out something to do productively” said Arun

Rahini did not say anything.

“Madam, I heard he will call you in few minutes. Just answer as I say. Tell him that their men will be handed over to them in the place where they want to. Rest we will take care” said the inspector.

Rahini’s face turned angry “What do you mean by you will take care? Did not he tell you that those goons specifically told not to involve police this time? No way. You people are not coming with us. I cannot allow this”

“Who are you to allow this?” fumed Arun “Do as instructed by the inspector. We did not ask you for suggestion. Just do what we say. It is enough.”

“you don’t understand he will not spare the child if something unwanted happens and ….”

“We know that Madam” said inspector trying to hold his patience. “Don’t teach us to do our job. We will handle it in our way. Don’t worry the child will be safe”

“Inspector please don’t listen to her. She considers herself as some warrior princess. We don’t need her advice.” Said Arun and he turned towards her “Mam, if you please hand-over the stuffs to us so that we can plan our operations. You please go home and take rest” mocked Arun.

“Where are the stuffs?” asked Inspector.

Rahini looked around for Pratik he was not found anywhere. Rahini felt chilled for a while. Where the hell has he gone? Did he ran away with the documents? What a fool I am? I should have got that from him and kept it with myself.

Pratik did not test her for more time. Rahini felt relived on seeing him coming. Her mobile phone rang and everyone of them got nervous on it. Rahini looked the mobile in fear.

“Attend the call. Put it in speaker mode.” Said the inspector.

Rahini pushed the answer button

“Hello”

“Alas! Your people realized that it is of going to be no use in enquiring our men. It is very nice that you people have decided to surrender” said the voice

Rahini did not reply him.

“I know that your friends are hearing this conversation right at this moment. I already told you not to be too smart. Tell your police friend to back off from this and all others to do as we instruct. All we need is our men and the stuff. Give it to us and get your child. Matter is so simple. Don’t complicate things with any rescue operation.”

Rahini looked at them like ‘Now what you say.’. Rohit and Arun angrily listened to the caller.

“I am watching every movement of you and your friends. I know all of you have assembled in that place planning for some intelligent mission. I hope you remember what I said”

“I remember and everyone of us is aware of that. Please don’t do any harm to the child. Tell us the place where you want to bring your men and documents.” Said Rahini anxiously

“Do you think I am a fool to reveal it in front of a police man? I know what he would do the very next moment I told about the location. Ask him to get out from that place. I will tell once I got the report that the inspector and his men have vanished from the area. They should leave my men and get away from here. You have five minutes before you fulfill my condition.” said the goon and the line got disconnected.

Rahini now looked at inspector like ‘what now?’ Inspector looked too worried about the conversation. Rohit and Arun stood helpless and worried on what to do next.

“Alright! It is now time for us to back off. I will leave this place and we will be in contact. I will instruct on what to be done next.” He said and left the place.

Phone rang exactly after five minutes. Rahini attended the call.

“Good. It would be nice if you obey me like this. Now listen I want you to get into the vehicle which is standing there along with my men. They will take you to our place. Ask the child’s family to stay quiet and not to do any heroism with us. Got it?”

Rohit fumed at the caller.

“I want only my men and you to be there at the spot. If I find an extra head there, then there is no point in blaming me. Hope you understand.”

“Yeah” said Rahini in low voice.

“I am sure you will not use any technology devices to trace us and take chances with us. I know you are not such a fool. You have 15 minutes to complete everything. See you in my place.”

Call got disconnected.

Rohit and Arun looked Rahini with all fury in this world. She did not pay attention to it. She grabbed the stuffs from Pratik and left the place.

“Bhaiyya! What should we do now? I am not trusting this lady. We have to figure out something to trace them.”

Rohit acknowledged him. They did not notice Pratik left the place to trace where Rahini goes.

Rahini got into the vehicle along with the men. One of the thugs asked for the stuffs from her but Rahini refused.

“I am not giving until I see the child.” She said

The thug spoke to his boss over phone and conveyed her refusal. After several okays he disconnected the phone and did not ask anything from her. They got her mobile phone, dismantled the battery and threw away the SIM card . They then blindfolded her and took her to a place after several minutes of travel by road.

No one noticed Pratik grabbing something under the jeep travelling with them along.

Radha and KP got worried at the expression of Mrunalini while talking to her son. KP looked at Radha with some anguish but Radha looked so disinterested. KP was able to understand that she wants to get rid of the woman and her problems and leave from the place.

Radha did not like to stay there anymore but KP would not allow her to leave the place. Rahini told her to take care of her until she returns. What kind of a woman she is! Why is she bothering herself for some random family? Radha was so proud when Rahini earned good name for her helping nature. But now it has become a headache and torture for her family. She wished Rahini to return soon so that they can leave the place. Nowadays Rahini is busy to run behind Trisha that she forgot that she has son too. Who will take care of him if Rahini is not available and she is making her to

support Mrunalini?

Mrunalini finished her conversation and looked even more terrified.

“Mrunalini ji, is everything OK? What happened?” asked KP

“Everything has happened. They went to some place and had a heavy tussle with the goons there. Some of them were arrested.”

“That is great. Trisha is safe, is it not?” asked KP

“They did not find the child. They don’t know any clue of where the child will be. I am so scared. After the tussle, sure the goons would have got angry and they will do any harm to the child.”

“Mrunalini ji, please don’t think like that. Perhaps police  can get any clue from the goons whom they have arrested. They will find the child soon.”

“I don’t know if I will be alive to see my child back.”

KP was about to say something but Radha gestured him to keep quiet. KP understood that no consolation is going to calm her. He watched helplessly. He dialed Rahini’s number but disconnected immediately

As to not to disturb her.

Rahini attended the call from the unknown number guessing it to be from the one of the gang member.

“Congratulations lady, you proved that you are more intelligent than us, is it not?” asked the goon in anger filled mocking tone “Now it is my turn to prove that you are not as intelligent as you think. Which organ can I cut-off from her body. I am leaving it to your choice.”

Rahini got bewildered.

“Please listen to me. You have two things misunderstood. One is, I am not the reason behind the tussle happened here. Another main thing is, the girl whom you have kidnapped is not my child. You have kidnapped some other child. Her family members are the ones who brought the cops. I beg you, please relive the girl. ”

“Don’t act too smart.” yelled the guy “You took advantage of our politeness and tried to trap us. You will surely pay for that.”

“Why the hell you are not understanding?” screamed Rahini “She is not my child.”

“Shut up” screamed the guy

Rahini’s face got horrific. Pratik watched her with some worry.

“Listen please. I still have the stuff you want. I will bring it to your place as soon as possible. Please give the child back.” begged Rahini

“That is not that easy. You got my men trapped to police. It is your duty to relieve them. I need both the document stuffs and our men soon to have the child back. I will call again in half-an-hour to tell you the location. Be ready by then.”

“But it is not possible. Time is too short  I cannot....”

“That is not my headache. This is your last chance. If you try to outsmart us this time, I am sorry to sorry to say, be ready to see the child as meat pieces.” Said the goon in cruel tone and disconnected the call.

Rahini looked at the phone with extreme fear of her life. Pratik came to her and his face too showed the tension.

POLICE STATION

The place was unusually busy than it used to be. Press reporters from various channels and newspaper gathered outside waiting for updates which can create a sensation and increase their TRP today.Many  reporters were standing in front the camera holding a mic in hands and broadcasting the latest update of the sensational story.

“Child kidnap has become one of the burning crime in the city with many innocent children vanished in recent past. Saddest part is, even the children of celebrities who are under tight security are not spared. The latest victim to join the unfortunate list  is being the daughter of actor Rohit Kumar who has been kidnapped by some of the goons of child kidnapping racket few hours ago. A massive rescue operation was organized by the police force a while ago near Victoria Terminus which turned unsuccessful as the goons hid the child in some other place which it yet to be identified. However police managed to grab few of them while many escaped after a gun shots have fired at them. Investigations are going on the whereabouts of the child and who are all the anti-social elements behind.”

Another lady broadcasted,

“Police are in the process of intense investigation about the goons and who are backing them. It has been rumored that the racket is backed by many political elements in and around Mumbai and they are kidnapping children especially girl children for several gains which includes trading them to overseas, begging etc. The current investigation is expected to bring out many shocking information about many politicians and VIPs as well.”

Similar kind of noises heard here and there while security police were in process of preventing the press people entering inside the police station and struggle of press reporters to break their chain and go inside so as to get glimpse of the star and his interview. It has been half-an-hour since the thugs were brought into custody and police inspector has started enquiry in his own way.

Rohit and Arun were seated and Arun’s face turned annoyed on seeing the reporters outside.

“I don’t understand how this news got leaked to the press. Our house has totally got under siege after Ma went out of the house.” yelled Arun.

Rohit kept quiet.

“I am not sparing that woman at any cost. Where the hell she came from? All of the sudden, our life turned upside down because of one woman. I can’t just imagine what I am suppose to do now and what I am doing now. On one side, I am struggling to avoid police coming after us on the other side I am going after police to get back our child. Today we are supposed to have shooting in our studio. Bank people told that they will come to watch the shoot. Everything got cancelled. Amidst all these chaos we have to complete the balance ten days shoot to get it to editing desk. I don’t know how the hell we are going to do this. But Bhaiyya, I have to thank God for one thing sure”

Rohit looked at him like ‘What?’

“Somehow this news helped us to suppress the news of your arrest.” said Arun in as low voice as possible. “Now press reporters are more concerned about how you react on your daughter’s vanish. You have to somehow act like that you are the most concerned and caring father in the world. You have to perform so well that everyone should believe that you love your daughter like anything. If that happens, then I will show that woman who we are. Bhaiyya! Your acting should be in such a way that her own media people should turn against her and sue her for trying to sue you. I can use this opportunity to clear you out of this case completely. No need of sending any goons to threaten her.”

Rohit did not say anything. Arun’s phone rang and he frowned on seeing the caller.

He angrily pressed the answer button and said “What now?”

“What!” exclaimed Arun “Do we look like mad to your eyes?”

…….

“Look, stop your non-senses. We know how to get her back. Don’t act like you are only one in this world to save her. We don’t need your help. With the same goons we will trace her and find her.”

…….

“We are neither interested to help you. We had enough of our life because of you. And I am warning you. From now on, stay away from our child as much as possible. You are the real threat to her than

my brother. Don’t call me again.”

Arun disconnected the phone angrily. Rohit looked at him and Arun said “This woman is always after us. Who is she thinking she is talking to? I have to hire some goons to get rid of her.”

Police Inspector came there after the initial enquiry. Arun and Rohit looked at him eagerly to know the whereabouts of Trisha.

“Mr.Arte, I am sorry to say but we have no luck right now.”

“What?” exclaimed Arun in shock “You are kidding, Inspector.”

“No Mr.Arte. We have tried all our means of enquiry but no luck. The people are kind of daily wages labors hired by them. They really have no direct contact with the main racket. They are assigned to complete a job. They told that they were instructed to collect some stuffs from the woman and kill her once she handed over to them. Due to our intervention, everything changed.”

Arun looked at Rohit who showed really worry and concern about the inspector’s statement.

“That woman owes a lot to us then” said Arun in irritation. “In that case, how are we suppose the trace the kid.”

“Only if we go in their path, we can get them. They are looking for some stuffs in exchange for the child. Do you have that?”

Arun and Rohit looked at each other.

“Which stuff you are talking about?” asked Arun

“The one that has. May be some kind of documents or anything. We will need that.”

Arun got stunned for a while.

“Chota! What happened? Let us get that woman and grab the stuffs. We don’t have time.” Said Rohit

Arun did not say anything.

“Chota! Why are you like this?” screamed Rohit

Arun looked at them terrified.

“Bhaiyya! It is not that easy. That woman told me another thing.”

“What?”

“Along with the stuffs, the goons need to be released from police and no FIR should be lodged against them. She told they will call again in half-an-hour which means” he looked at his watch “only 18 minutes left before we hand-over the goons and stuff. If we fail so, they will cut-off her into pieces.” Said Arun in horrific voice.

Everyone got shocked.

“What non-sense is this, Chota? That woman called you to tell this. Why you did not respond to it?” screamed Rohit.

“Bhaiyya, I was so sure that police will somehow find the whereabouts of them. I did not expect it to be this much complicated.”

Rohit held his head with his hands and sat as if he lost all his strength.

“It is ok. Still we have time left. We can try our luck this time” said inspector.

“No Sir. The guy who spoke to her was so sure that no police. Else our child will be …” Arun was not able to complete.

“I know. It is not something new to us. You please don’t worry. We will take all actions only we are sure that your child is safe in your hands. We cannot afford to lose this opportunity. Please co-operate with us.”
