Rahini watches as the small girl runs to the middle of the road and a car comes running in a full speed. Rahini finds no elders accompanying the small girl. The car does not seem to reduce and the car shall surely collide the small girl.
Rahini rushes towards the girl fast. The small girl does not see anything around her and plays ball in the middle of the road. Rahini watches the car. She still is very far away from the road and tries to reach the girl.
Car nears the small girl and is about to collide. Rahini stops like a statue in her place to see the girl getting thrown away.
But...
The small girl is lifted by someone in nick of time and saved from collision. The car glitches due to sudden intervention by the man and stops at the corner with a sudden brake.
Rahini shows a sigh of relief on the girl's escape and rushes towards the girl.
The car's door opens and a young girl comes out of it. Her face shows sign of anger and a rage. She takes her footsteps fast and reaches them.
Rahini sees the reaction of the girl and she also rushes fast to the place.
The young girl comes to the man and the girl and shouts "Hey Idiotic brute. Don't you have common sense. You would have been smashed by this time for what you have done. Did you ever find my car for you to commit suicide."
Rahini is raged by her arrogance and goes to her. Meanwhile the man who saved the little girl replies to car girl
"Excuse me. The mistake is on your side but you are raising your voice. Can't you see what happened now. By the way I have saved you from committing a murder and going behind the bars yet you are shouting at me"
"Oh, You the real saviour. Don't you dare to send me to jail. You know who I am?" shouted the girl.
In the meantime, Rahini reached the spot.
"Whoever be you are, you are a citizen of this country. And you are supposed to follow the rules.
This is a school zone and you should have seen a sign board there." replied Rahini
Rahini points to a board written "SCHOOL ZONE. GO SLOW".
"I watched your car rushing in full speed. You neither bothered to see that board nor slowing your speed." replied Rahini in polite but in firm voice.
The girl turns towards Rahini and says, "Who are you idiot. Mind your business and run away."
"Excuse Me mam. Please mind your words. Else.."
"Else What will you do? I am asking What can you do. I know you loafers. You deliberately send children in busy roads to snatch money from rich people right. I can right away hand over you all to police."
"Hello. Madam" replied the young man. "Don't try to be too smart. Many of us have watched the silly stunt which you did right now. Don't ever think of doing stupid things."
The crowd which got gathered during the fight all shouted against the girl. The girl got bewildered by the sound and stood silently.
"Just apologize for your stupidity and leave this place right away before we change our mind to call the police." replied Rahini.
"What! What are you saying. You want 'me' to apologize?"
"Of course. You are the one who drove the car. Then you are the one to apologize"
"Don't even ever think of it. There is no such word called 'apology' in my dictionary. Understand."
"Oh, really. Then sure your dictionary should have the words like 'Police', 'Lock up', 'Court', 'Jail' is it?. Just refer the meanings of them once. And by the way do you know how to count numbers. Don't know means learn it soon. Shortly you need to count some iron bars in some special place." The young man goes towards the girl's car and grabs the key from the ignition.
"Hey that is my car key. Give it to me". shouted the car girl.
The girl tries to grab the key from the man but he does not give it to her. Rahini watches the scene as others and stands not knowing what to do.
"Not at all. I will never lose the pride of saving the citizens of this city from a nasty driver. You collect this key from the cops." The man takes his mobile phone and starts to dial. The girl looks at him with hatred and arrogance and stares at him.
"What apology or jail?"
The girl looks at him in anger. She looks around and no one standing is talking supportive of her.
"Don't stare with your dinosaur egg eyes. Being a woman is not excuse from escaping a crime. I know how you women take advantage of your situations with your so called beauty. With the physical appearance you all think you can do anything and bring the whole world under your palms. But Madam. It never happens with me. Also with the people here " says the young man with an arrogant and challenging tone.
Rahini looks at the man in surprise.
The young man and the car girl stare at each other.
"Are you going to give my key or not?" car girl shouted with rage.
Rahini steps inside.
"Excuse me, Sure you can have your key. But what you did right now is not correct. Just admit your mistake and you can leave your own way"
"Yes, madam is right. Say Sorry", shouted a voice from the crowd.
The girl looks at the crowd "Hey who is that, dare to come in front of me and speak."
But no one came in front.
"You losers, don't try to create a fuss. I stopped the car before dashing that little monkey. And that is why able to save her. You people never care to look after your children. If I should have slowed down my speed, you guys should have have not let your kids play in the middle of the road. The mistake is on your side and you are all asking me to apologize"
Everybody stand still without answering her. Rahini and the young man look at her.
The car girl turns towards the young man. "Hey look, I am no way apologizing here". She grabs the keys from his hands.
"Hey" the young man tries to stop her.
"Today is your lucky day and that is why I am leaving you all. Don't ever show your face to me next time."
The girl turns and leaves from the place. Rahini looks at her.
"What is this God, we are all walking in this dangerous world. See, how that girl was talking even after making such a big mistake. We are all holding our life in our hands and coming out of home." somebody was talking.
"Of course. Look how arrogant she is. Did not she was sorry for what she did. Government is giving driving license to everyone only to kill and not for driving. What would have happened had this man has not come without thinking of his life! Baaprey!"
"But what the girl has said is also correct. Children should not let out like this without elders. Otherwise things like this only happen" somebody supported the car girl
"Whatever, even if an elder was there his position would have also gone terrible. Mistake is on that girl only. But she threatens us. Oh God ! please save us from this type of dangerous drivers! What else we can say"
The crowd disperses slowly. Rahini turns back to that little girl standing next to the young man.
"Come here, Dear"
The little girl looks at her innocently. Rahini smiles at her and signs her to come near her. The girl hesitantly goes near to her.
"Are you OK dear, you are not hurt right?"
"These thoughts should have come before letting the children go out of the house", the young man said in a harsh tone. Rahini looks at him astonishingly.
"You women care to spend time for standing in front of mirrors. You people don't want to step outside without make overs. The importance which you all give to your children is not even 1% of you give to your appearances. "
"Excuse Me", replied Rahini, "What you want to say and what you are trying to say? I don't understand"
"What, am I speaking in any African tribal language? You made me dumb in front of that girl by your carelessness. Why are you all giving birth to children when you are not able to take care of them? "
"Wait a minute, don't speak as if you know everything. What you know about what happened?"
"I know everything, I was seeing you right from there. You were coming in slow motion to reach this girl. At one point you stood like a rock. You did not care to reach the girl and save her before something happens. This is how you care for your daughter lady?"
Rahini turns anger. Before she answer him the man interrupts her,
"Gosh, where is the sense of motherhood is going on and where all women are going on. You people always give importance only to silly and stupid things. Money, luxury, beauty etc. There is no sense of love is left in all of you. One day you stupid women are going to make this world like hell "
Rahini's anger turns to fury
"It is too much. Is this the way you speak to a stranger woman? What do you know about women and what you know about motherhood? The way you spoke to that girl itself was not correct. But she since herself behaved rudely, I was keeping quiet. But, you are crossing your limit. Stop your nonsense bluffs before I say something"
"hey you mind your words. What will you do if I don't stop? You don't have any pretension to talk to me like this. When someone points your mistake have tendency to accept. Don't think oppress a truth just by raising your voice."
Rahini is dumbstruck by his harshness. But she doesn't want to back off. She stares at him
"What truth you know. I am just like you rushing on seeing this girl in danger. And you misunderstand something and blaming me. And you are talking rubbishes to me. First you try to mind your words"
"Hey", the young man raises his voice on her and when Rahini try to stop him they are interrupted by someone
"Choti Mem Sahab, Where did you go?" A man looking like a driver came towards them and lifted the little girl. Both of them looked at the man
"Choti Mem Sahab, I was searching you elsewhere, I did not find you. You know how much I got scared" The man was speaking to the girl in a scary voice.
"Is this child yours?" asked Rahini to that man
The man looks at her. "No, She is my Mistress' grand daughter. I left her inside the car and went looking for mechanic as the car got broke down. I was not able to find anyone nearby. I thought of dropping the kid to the home and repair the car and went back to car only to find her missing. I felt like my life has gone. What will I answer if I cannot find the child, my mistress will put me behind the bars. I was searching her everywhere and found her"
"How can you this much careless. You know what happened, the girl would have got trampled by this time in a car"
"Hai Rabba" shouted the man
"No, please don't panic. The girl was saved by this man at right time." Rahini pointed out the young man. The man looked thankfully to the young man and bowed his hands together.
"Thanks Sahib. You have saved this girl's life and my vitality. What would have happened if some thing has happened to this girl. My Mistress would have taken my life. This girl is her vitality. She lives for this girl only. Thank you very much sahib"
The young man smiled with embarrassment. He looked at Rahini who was looking at him angrily. The young man turned his face.
"Ok. No problem. Take care of this child properly. " said the young man.
"Thank you Sahib. Thank you Mem sahib" The man left along with the little girl.
Rahini and the young man stand silently looking at each other.
"At least now you understand one thing?"
The young man looked at her like 'What'
"Appearances are often deceptive. Whatever you look, you hear need not be true. For every action there is must be sure some explanation which we need to patiently find out. Don't lose words unnecessarily. I don't know why you speaking illicit of women. Whatever may be the reason, you should give a chance to everything"
The young man turns his head as if he does not want to hear what she is saying.
"Anyway, no use in talking to you" Rahini leaves the place and walks away. The young man looks at her until she leaves his eyesight.
