RAHINI - Aur Ek Prem Kahani - Innoru Kadhal Kadhai - Episode 25

Rahini rushes to her flat block carrying Trisha in her hands. Some of neighbourhood people accompany her to her home. Rahini enters her bed room and places Trisha on her bed. Radha gets distracted by the sound of the people and comes out of the kitchen while Kannapiraan shows a surprise in his face as soon as he saw the scene in the house and follows her to her bedroom.

 

Trisha is in unconscious state and does not open her eyes. Rahini looks worried on seeing her condition and she rubs her hands. She removes the shoes in her legs and rubs the legs too but Trisha does not open her eyes.

Radha and Kannapiraan stand beside her surprised by the happening. She continues the rubbing of hands and legs again and again. She touches the forehead of the girl and gets astonished.

 

'God, she has got very high fever' says Rahini in a worried tone. She then realises her surroundings and looks at Radha and KP who are waiting for her explanation.

 

Radha comes to the bed and sits beside the girl to other side. Rahini looks at her and says 'Chithi' hesitatingly. Radha looks at her with questions.

 

'Chithi, the girl got injured while she tried to cross the road. That is why I brought her here' says Rahini.

 

Radha sadly smiles at her and does not say anything. Rahini says 'Chiti, yesterday Arjun was talking about a girl, isn't it. She is her.'

 

'Oh' replies Radha

 

'Chithi, she has got fever. Moreover injured in her head. She needs a doctor as first aid. I will go and bring my friend.Please look after her' says Rahini and leaves from the place.

 

A few minutes later Rahini comes inside the bedroom and along with her a woman who is equally of her age comes with her. The lady doctor sits beside Trisha and looks at her.

The doctor opens the girl's eyes, then she takes her hand and checks pulses. She then takes stethoscope and checks her heart beat. Rahini sits to other side of the girl.

 

'I want to check her whole body. I need to remove her dress now' says the doctor looking at Rahini.

 

Rahini consents to her and she helps to remove the school uniform shirt from her body. The lady doctor looks at the girl. She checks the girl's body in the front. Then the doctor turns her body towards and all of them shock on the very minute of condition which Trisha is in.

 

Trisha's backside shows a lot of blood line marks. Rahini could not believe what she is seeing through her eyes. Radha too express her shock and looks at Rahini.

 

'As I expected' says the doctor to her. 'She got high fever due to wounds she got in her body.'

 

Rahini looks at the doctor with full of worries in her eyes. The doctor says 'Somebody might have physically abused this girl because of which she is in this condition now. More worse than I anticipated'

 

'But how it is possible? Who is there to attack this girl like this cruelly.' asks Rahini in anguish

 

'Whomsever it may be. That is different issue now. Let us look at this. The head injury is not that much severe.But she has to be treated to this wound and fever.I will do one thing. Let me keep her in observation here itself. I will prescribe some medicines today. Let me see how she responds. But there is a greater possibility that she needs to be hospitilized if her fever does not subside by tomorrow morning.'

 

The doctor injects a medicine through syringe into her body. She then takes her notepad and writes down the prescription. Rahini looks at the girl bewildered and worried. The doctor gives a paper to her and she gets it from her.

 

'Rahini, don't panic. I am sure there is nothing going to be serious as far as her health is concerned. But...' stops the doctor in the middle. Rahini looks at her with questions. The doctor continues,

 

'Right now I have injected a medicine to heal the pain.Looks like this is going to be big issue psycologically. She is attacked by someone very severely. That might be very harmful to her that she might develop mental illness. More than physical abuse mental trauma is worse. Her mental health should be stable for her body's health to improve. So it has to be taken care too.'

 

'Yeah, I know. I have heard about this in many places wherever I visit for my social work. I am aware of this' says Rahini with a sad voice.

 

The doctor keeps her hand in her shoulders and says 'Rahini, I know how much you are concerned about little girls.I have seen how much you have toiled for the girls in the child welfare homes. Is this girl is related to you anyway?'

 

'Not related.' replies Rahini 'She is my son's schoolmate. His friend too. This girl's family background is a bit complicated actually.'

 

'Whatever. More care needs to be taken for this girl. I will come and check tomorrow morning.' the doctor packs her things and Rahini accompanies her outside the room.

 

A little later she comes inside the bedroom and sits beside her. She looks at the girl's body which has got a print of a human hand's fingers.

 

'God, the hand print is very deep in spite of her uniform dress. How severe might have been the attack when she got it? Which bloody monster in this world could harm a child like this?' thinks herself.

 

'If I ever find out who is that satan, I am sure I will make the person's life like hell' says Rahini to herself in anger.

ARTE MANSION

 

Mrunalini supervises all the works to be completed after the ritual is over. Rohit dressed in white pyjama and kurta sits like a stone in front of the photograph and Arun seated beside him. Mrunalini could not believe her eyes when Rohit came to the place as dressed by the ritual. The priest instructs him with the steps for every ritual. Mrunalini looks at Rohit who performs everything like a robot.

 

After few minutes, priest says 'All rituals are completed fully. May the soul be in peace forever'

 

Rohit does not respond to anything. He slowly wakes up from his seat and turns to go his room. Arun accompanies him to his room. Mrunalini follows the instructions by the priest and she does everything.

 

The death anniversry ceremony gets over and Mrunalini sends off the people who have attended it. She roams here and there looking after many tasks and setting right of the things in the room. She then rests for a while on the sofa getting tired by the happenings that day in the house. She looks at the clock showing 3pm and gets surprised on seeing the fast passed time. She looks like getting reminded of something and calls a maid. A maid comes in front of her and Mrunalini asks 'Has Trisha finished her food?'

 

'Madam ji, Choti Mem sahib did not come home yet' replies the maid

 

'What?' asks Mrunalini in surprise 'She hasn't reached home till now? But today is only half a day in her school. She should have been here by 1 pm itself, isn't it?'

 

'Yes, mem sahib, but she did not come home' replies the maid.

 

Mrunalini turns tensed and she calls from her mobile. The call is attended by a person other side. Mrunalini asks 'Munna, where is Trisha? Why she is not at home yet?'

 

'Mem sahib, Choti Mem sahib has not come out of the school. All the children have gone and gate has also closed. But choti mem has not come till now. I am searching her for more than an hour.' replies the driver voice in tremble.

 

Mrunalini turns fully shocked on hearing the reply. 'What are you saying? What you mean by you did not find her? Have you been late to school today? May be she would have come earlier and roaming around' shouts Mrunalini in tension.

 

'No Madam ji. I went to school well ahead. But I was not able to see her. I went inside the school too. But I am not able to find her.' replies the driver.

 

'Munna. Don't play pranks like this. I don't want to hear anything nonsense' screams Mrunalini. Arun comes out of the room and looks at Mrunalini speaking with somebody with a tension in her voice.

 

'Mem sahib, why would I play pranks like this. I am saying the truth only. School gate is closed but choti mem sahib has not come. I am right now searching her in the surroundings and trying to locate her. Mem sahib I will call you once I find her.' says the driver.

 

'Ok. Soon. Call me once you have found her.' says Mrunalini in a stressed voice. She disconnects the call and looks worried. Arun gets surpised by the expression and comes near to her

 

'Ma, are you ok? What is up? Why are you so tensed?' asks Arun

 

Mrunalini looks scared at Arun and says 'Beta, Trisha has not come to home till now.'

 

'But ma, her school time is just to complete isn't it? '

 

'Beta, today her school is half a day. She is supposed to be at home two hours before itself. Munna says he did not see the girl coming out of school and the gate is also closed.' says Mrunalini

 

Arun's face also turn worried. But he does not show it to his mother.

 

'Ma, don't worry. She will come home soon. May be she would have gone to any of her friends' house. Let her come. I will screw her ears for running away like this without informing' says Arun

 

Mrunalini looks at him sadly 'No beta. There is no such chance. You know how that kid is very reserved and she hardly speaks to anyone in her school. She has never been to any friends house to my knowledge.Also I have instructed her to inform wherever she goes. So, this is very unusual that she did not show up till now.'

 

'Ma' says Arun and he holds her in her shoulders and makes her sit on the sofa. He sits beside her 'Don't panic. If she has no place to go, sure she would not gone anywhere. She will come home soon.'

 

Mrunalini eyes start to shed tears 'No Arun I am very worried. She was not at all well for past few days after Rohit's arrival. She frequently insisted me to go meet her dad. But I refused her by saying stupid reasons.Even yesterday she resisted that she will not eat until she met her father. But I scolded her for being so adamant like this. My little doll is very disappointed by that. May be she is upset with me for that'

 

'Ma, please.I don't think so. She will come home soon. Please stop crying. Don't imagine wild things' says Arun with worry in his voice.

 

'God, please don't let any unwanted things to happen in my home. I cannot tolerate the thinking of anything happening to my lovely little girl. Already she is suffering a lot of pain. Please save my girl'

 

Arun gets tensed on seeing Mrunalini's condition. 'Ma, please don't scare. I will do one thing. I will myself go and bring her.You please stop crying. Nothing will happen to her, Ma' says Arun.

 

'Beta, please do that immediately. I want to see her soon. This is not something happening in this house commonly. I am sure my little girl is in some trouble.' says Mrunalini and sheds a lot of tears.

 

'Ok, Ma. I will go now. Don't worry. I will come home only with her. I will call once I find her. Meanwhile tell Munna to inform me once he found her' says Arun. He immediately leaves the place.

Rahini keeps her hand on Trisha's forehead and checks the whole body. Radha enters the room with a hot water container and glass tumblers. Rahini looks at her with a worried face.

 'How is she now?' asks Radha

'Fever is reduced but not fully cured. She is groaning in pain. I don't know what to do now?' says Rahini

'Don't worry. She will be fine' says Radha trying to console her. 'It is really very shocking to see a small child being attacked like this?'

Rahini looks at Trisha and says 'Yes Chithi. Even I cannot digest the sight of her back with deep marks. I am sure the type of attack is really painful even for adults. This is assault is a totally condemning.'

'When the next dose of medicine has to be given?' asks Radha

'Shortly. She has to wake up for that. If she wake up her pain will be more. What can I do now?' says Rahini with a sad tone. She looks at Radha in grief and asks her 'Chithi, sure she will be fine, isn't it?'

Radha looks at her pitifully. 'Don't worry. God will never let the innocent children to suffer like this. She has come under your custody and sure she will be alright' says Radha in a hope giving smile.

The hall becomes little noisy on the arrival of Arjun. He comes running to the bedroom saying 'Amma'.

Rahini looks at the boy and she keeps her finger on her lips looking at him. Arjun looks at her sign and stops the screaming. Rahini looks at him and shows the girl on the bed. Arjun looks at the bed and he slowly comes near to it.

He climbs on the bed and looks at the girl. His face turn in surprise. He looks at Rahini and says 'Amma, Trisha'

Rahini keeps her finger on his lips and says 'Sh, Arjun. Don't scream. She is sleeping. She would wake up if you shout' in a low voice. Arjun nods his head like 'OK'

'Now you go and change your clothes and have your tiffin' says Rahini to him. She looks at Radha and Radha takes him with her.

'Dadhi' Trisha starts to groan again in a low voice.Rahini looks at her and keeps her hand on her body.

'Dadhi...  Dadhi... Dadhi...' Trisha keeps on groaning and Rahini consoles her.

'Trisha, open your eyes, beta. See, it is me' Rahini tries to wake her up and speaks to her. Trisha does not open her eyes and she keeps groaning.

'God, she could feel the pain of her wound it seems. How horrible it will be if she gains her full consciousness! What can I do to help this child?' Rahini gets disturbed and sad by the girl's condition.

Arjun comes to the bedroom and jumps on the bed. He goes near to Trisha and looks at his mother with questions. Rahini too looks at him anticipating what he is going to ask.

'Amma, Trisha did not come to school today.' says Arjun.

Rahini smiles at him and says 'Yes kanna. I know. She is here from the morning. I brought her to our home.'

Arjun's face turns bright and says 'Amma, you told today we would bring her here to play, isn't it? That is why she has come here?'

Rahini gives a sad smile to him and reply to his question. Arjun goes to Trisha and wakes her up 'Trisha, come one wake up. All are playing outside. Let us go and play'

Trisha does not wake up or opens her eyes. Arjun shakes her body and says 'Hey sleepy head, come on. Wake up'

Rahini stops him from shaking her. She holds his hands and says 'Kanna, She will not come to play with you now. She is not feeling well.' in a low voice.

Arjun looks at her and asks 'Not feeling well means?'

'She has got fever and she is sleeping due to medicines. So you go and play alone.'

'You told she will come and play with me today, isn't it?' asks Arjun in a angry tone.

Rahini gently holds his hands and says 'Kanna, just understand. Yes, I told you that she will come. Now I am saying she cannot come. You are good boy isn't it? Just obey me. Don't disturb her for today. She will come to play with you once she gets well'

'When she will get well?' asks Arjun in a frustrated voice.

'Very soon. You pray to god that she should get well soon. IF you do that she will become alright and come with you, OK?'

Arjun smiles at her and nods his head saying 'OK'

'Ok, Amma. I will pray to god to make my friend get well soon.' Arjun joins his two hands and closes his eyes. Rahini smiles with tears in her eyes and looks at the little girl who still groans of the pain.
