I AM VERY MUCH HAPPY TO PUBLISH MY 100th POST IN THIS BLOG. THOUGH IT TOOK ME FIVE YEARS FOR THIS, I AM HAPPY I HAVE ACHIEVED IT

Rahini looks at her watch. Time shows 7 pm. Trisha sleeps silently and does not groan. Rahini touches her forehead and smiles. Radha comes to the room and looks at her.
'Chithi, there is no fever now. She is sleeping peacefully. Looks like she does not feel any pain.' says Rahini with relief in her voice and smile in her face.
Radha reciprocates her smile. 'I wanted to ask you a thing. Have you informed her parents that she is here? They might be worried.' says Radha
Rahini gets shocked by the question and blinks like a child. 'Oh my God! Chithi, I did not inform anyone in her house. I totally forgot.'
Radha looks at her in a playful anger. 'Very careless. Why are you doing like this? How much her parents would have been worried not knowing her whereabouts? She came here at morning. Now it is going to be night and still you did not bother to inform them. '
Rahini looks guilty and looks at the sleeping girl. ‘Chithi, right from the morning I was thinking only about her and I feel like my brain has stopped working. I was not able to realize the world around me.’
Radha looks at her in surprise. ’What you are saying looks very strange to me? It is not the first time I see you caring for somebody who needs help but it is the first time I am ever seeing you caring for a girl forgetting the whole world around you. What is wrong with you? ’
‘I don’t know how to explain. Something is dragging me towards her. I feel I share a very special bond with her. I will not say that I am always thinking about her. But when I start to think about her I think about nothing. That is why I even failed to do my basic responsibility.’
Rahini sits beside the sleeping girl and surrounds her hands. Radha looks at her behaviour very strange. ‘All of your justifications are acceptable only to us. Not to the outside world. You said she is from a rich family. What will the world think, if you kept a small girl without informing to her family members. You know what it is called?’
Rahini looks at Radha in astonishment. ‘Chithi’
‘It is called as KIDNAP. I believe you are aware of this.’
Rahini does not answer to her. Radha continues ‘At least now call her parents and inform that she is with you. By this time, they would have surely gone to police to find their child. It is better you admit that she is with you before police comes us and charges for crime.’
Rahini turns angrily ‘Why would I kidnap a child and keep with me? She is not feeling well. I am looking after her and caring for her. How can I be charged?’
‘Don’t talk like a child, Raga.’ Says Radha in anger. ’You are responsible journalist and a social worker. It takes seconds for someone to charge for guilty. But it takes decades to prove innocence. We are living in such a country. You are a celebrity. If somebody charges you for kidnap, think of what will happen to your image. The girl is from rich family and people will say that you deliberately took her for her money. Do you really want earn this good name for you?’
Rahini stays silent.
‘Nobody will believe that you are a matured woman. Just do what I said before our flat gets filled with cops’ says Radha and leaves the room collecting all the used utensils.
Rahini sits on the bed and looks at Radha moving out of the room. ‘It is totally that confirmed my brain has stopped working today and I am talking rubbish things.’

Rohit looks at the enlarged size photograph of Sakshi in her bridal costume smiling beautifully. He kisses the photograph and holds it very tightly. He remains in that position for a long time until a door knock is heard.
Rohit looks at the door angrily. The door knocks again and Rohit gets annoyed. ‘Who is it?’
The door opens and a servant comes inside hesitantly and with fear. Rohit looks at him in irritation and asks ‘What now?’
‘Sahib, I have come here to ask what need to be cooked for dinner’ say the servant in a low voice. Rohit looks at him in surprise.
‘What is this new practice? When did I ever tell what needs to be cooked or washed? Usually Arun does it. Go and ask him.’
‘Sahib, he is not at home right now.’
Rohit turns annoyed again and shouts ‘Then go and ask the mother.’
‘Sahib, Ma ji told that she does not want anything to eat. She only told me to ask you.’
Rohit’s face shows irritation and anger in full state. He speaks in controlled anger ‘I too don’t want anything. Let Arun come and ask him what he wants. Now go away from here.’
The servant leaves the place but Rohit stops him and asks ‘Where has Arun gone?’
The servant does not answer him. ‘I am not speaking to the plate which you are holding. Tell me where is he?’
‘Sahib’ says the servant in a hesitant voice ‘He has gone to Choti maalikin's school to search her. He has not returned till now.’
Rohit looks at him in surprise and asks ‘Search her? What do you mean?’
‘Sahib, Choti maalikin is missing right from the morning. Mem Sahib is in that tension only and she said she will not eat anything until Choti maalikin returns. She did not even drink a drop of water from the time she heard that.’
Rohit gets up from his seat and goes near to him. ‘What you are saying? From when she goes missing? Why nobody told me this till now?’ shouts Rohit at the servant.
‘Sahib, Arun sahib instructed us not to talk about her to you. Ma ji told that Choti maalikin did not attend the school today. Arun sahib and Munna bhaiya are separately searching her.’
Rohit's face turns pale and the servant's face too.

Arun enters the house with slow footsteps and sits on an empty sofa. Mrunalini looks at him with eagerness and asks ‘What happened? Where is my girl?’
Arun looks at Mrunalini and replies with sad tone ‘Ma, I don’t know what to say? I did not even get any clue about her. All because of that bloody Munna. I am going to kill him.’
‘You kill him afterwards. Now answer me. You were not able to find her till now. What the hell you were doing all these time? Why did you come home without her?’ shouts Mrunalini in frustration and she cries heavily.
Arun gets tensed by her cry and comes to her ‘Ma, please don’t cry. I have talked to Assistant Commissioner. He told that he will immediately send his people to find her. He asked for a photograph of hers. I came here to collect. Ma, please give me her recent photo.’
Mrunalini looks at Arun with tearful eyes and then she rushes to her room. Arun sits on the sofa and leans backside closing his eyes.
‘It is a waste talking to him about her. What bothers him if the girl is alive or dead? If I say she is lost, then he would say ‘Problem solved. Leave it as it is’. I suppose no father can be as cruel as him in this world.’ thinks Arun to himself.
Mrunalini comes to him with a photograph in her hand.
‘Beta. Here is her photo. Taken one year back only. But no difference shall be there in looks now.’ Says Mrunalini
‘Ok enough. I will give this to the person in police station.’ says Arun looking at the photo. Mrunalini looks at Rohit standing there but she does not talk to him.
‘Ma, I will also carry out the searching from my side. Don’t worry. We will find her.’ Says Arun trying to console her.
‘Beta, please search soon and find her. I cannot imagine anything happening to her and I will die if something happens to her.’ Says Mrunalini in tears. Arun holds her shoulder and consoles.
‘Don’t talk like this Ma. Sure she is going to be safe and alright. She is a very lovely innocent girl. We shall find her soon. I promise.’ Says Arun
Mrunalini’s mobile phone rings. Arun looks at the mobile and takes it in his hands. A number flashes on the screen.
‘Ma, might be one of your friends. Don’t say anything to them now. It might spread like a forest fire. I will cut the call’ says Arun and he presses the button to disconnect.
Mrunalini stops him ‘No beta. I will attend the call. Someone who can give information about her might call us.’
‘Ma, You are correct. There might be chances of some kidnapper’s call. Let me attend.’
Arun gets her phone and attends the call. He says ‘Hello’

Mrunalini looks at the clock time and again. Tears roll from her eyes continuously and she does not do anything to control them. The maid brings a glass of water and gives it to her.
'I don't want anything' says Mrunalini with frustration in voice. 'I am neither going to eat nor drink anything until I find out my little girl.'
The maid hesitantly stands with the water glass and Mrunalini looks at her and gets angry. 'I told you isn't it? Why are you still standing? Go away' yells Mrunalini at the maid.
The maid goes away from the place. Mrunalini continues crying and says 'Ganpati Bappa! What is this? The more I pray for the peacefulness, the more you are giving sorrow to me.'
Mrunalini's mobile rings. She rushes to the mobile and picks it up in the second ring.
'Hello, Trisha'
'Ma, I am at school now. Very shocking. I had seen her class attendance register. It is marked absent today. She has not been to school from morning itself' says Arun
'Hey bhagwan' Mrunalini screams in grief. 'What are you saying beta? Then where else she would have gone? Did you check properly? Just check one more time'
'Ma, I checked many times. Her attendance is marked absent only. Did you see her leaving school today?'
Mrunalini remains silent for a second and then she replies 'No. Today morning I was very busy with your Bhabhi's anniversary rituals. I told the maid to make her ready and drop to school. Wait a minute' says Mrunalini.
She looks for the maid and calls her. The maid comes rushing to her and stands in front of her
'You sent to Trisha to school, isn't it?' asks Mrunalini
'Yes, Ma ji. I made her ready and sent to Munna. He picked her up and left' replies the maid.
'Are you sure?' asks Mrunalini in anxiety
'Yes, Ma ji. I saw her leaving with him in the car. But Ma ji...' the maid hesitates and stops. Mrunalini looks at her strange.
'But what?' asks Mrunalini
'Ma ji. She was looking too much dull and sad today. She was very silent and I felt it very unusual. I thought she would have got her mother's memory.'
'Then? Did she say anything to you?'
'No Ma ji. I asked her nothing and she said nothing. I left her to the driver and told him that girl is so sad. So get her some chocolate and make her happy as you will instruct to do so whenever she is very dull.'
Mrunalini then turns to her mobile and talks 'Beta, maid girl is very sure Trisha left the home with Munna.'
'Yes Ma, I heard everything. OK. I will call you back' Arun disconnects the call.
Mrunalini continues to cry and the maid stands looking at her helplessly.

Arun disconnects the call and stands doing nothing.
'Where did this girl might have gone? Where the hell I can go and search her?' Arun looks frustrated and worried.
Munna comes running towards him and asks 'Sahib, you got any information?'
Arun looks at him amd does not reply him. He stares at him and Munna's face turn pale. He bents his head down and avoids that. Arun rises up from his place and catch holds of Munna's collar.
'Don't say anything other than truth. Did you ever see Trisha entering inside the school or not? Did you drop her safely? If I found that you told me lie, you cannot imagine what can happen to you?' says Arun in full anger and fury.
Munna starts to sweat and his body shakes in fear. Arun holds his shirt very tightly.
'Sahib, please leave me. I will say everything' says Munna in a timid voice. When Arun relaxed his hold, Munna falls into his feet and starts to cry.
Arun is taken aback and shouts 'What the hell you are doing? Just get up'
Munna does not rises up and speaks to him with tears in his eyes 'Sahib, please forgive me. I have done a great mistake. Please Sahib, don't terminate me from my job. My whole family's bread is dependent on my salary. If you fire me, all my family will have to commit suicide only'
Arun gets angry and he holds his collar again and makes him stand. 'So, what you have got to tell me. At least now speak up before it is too late'
'Sahib' says Munna with tremble 'Choti maalikin, vanished before going to school'
'What?' shouts Arun scaring Munna further. Munna's voice stammers making him not to speak properly.
'What are you saying? You lost her?' asks Arun in fury
'Sahib maid girl told me to get chocolate as she looks very sad. So I stopped the car in front of a store to buy chocolates. When I came back, Choti maalikin was not in the car'
Arun's hands began to tremble on hearing Munna's statements. He could not utter another word and his face turns in full shock and pale.
'Sahib, I thought of informing Mem Sahib. Maid girl said everyone is busy from morning and so I thought I can find the girl by myself. It earlier happened like that.' says Munna
Arun looks at him without saying any word. Munna continues 'Yes Sahib. Earlier she left the car like this. One madam and a sir rescued her and handed over to me.'
